Ain t No Sunshine is a gripping story of a determined young woman who encounters trauma early in life and struggles t o make it over the many hurdles that follow. This story takes us on a path of sadness, laughter, despair, and exhilaration with hope remaining an almost constant sidekick throughout it all. Tiona places the taboo of sexual abuse, domestic violence, depression and family dysfunction front and center. These usually swept under the rug issues , particularly in black families, are confronted head on, and this time it’s done outside of the church no holy rollin or fairy tales here.
