Malcolm Jenkins: Beyond The Blitz and Impacting The Community

Philadelphia, PA – Malcolm Jenkins is a key player on and off of the football field. In October, the two-time Super Bowl Champion and Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl Safety transformed from cleats and Gatorade to Bowties and Bourbon as The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation presented the 6th Annual Fundraiser Blitz, Bow Ties, Bourbon and Beyond. The fundraising gala transformed The Lincoln Financial Field-West Club to include exhibits, testimonials and one of a kind sports memorabilia. The eagerly anticipated annual event is the signature fundraising event for The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation. Masterfully meshing delightful chef tastings, captivating cocktails, soulful sounds and exclusive live and silent auctions, Blitz, Bow Ties, Bourbon and Beyond featured several exciting elements that together contribute to innovative and transformative programs that have made a difference in the lives of youth and communities at large. Jenkins dug into his personal collection to auction off impressive sports memorabilia. Some of the notable items included signed jerseys by “Weapon X” Brian Dawkins, “The Prince” Ben Simmons and a MVP basketball signed by “The Answer” Allen Iverson, among many other items.

Adding a touch of fashion, Malcolm Jenkins introduced a special Bow Tie offered in collaboration with Damari Savile, Jenkins’ custom suit line.  “I’m opening my man cave of my personal Eagles in-game memorabilia to give our supporters the opportunity to own a piece of our journey to Super Bowl LII,” said Jenkins. Additionally, “I am excited to unveil the IMPACT Bow Tie, a limited edition accessory designed through my Damari Savile clothing line, that expresses our commitment to helping youth embrace their Individuality, be Motivated, have Purpose, Advocate, be Confident and Thrive,” Jenkins added.

Not only is Malcolm Jenkins committed to making a difference and impact in the lives of the youth and their families, but so is his mother Gwendolyn V. Jenkins, President and CEO of The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation. “Since coming to Philadelphia in 2014, Malcolm and our family have come to love this city for all of the wonderful things it has to offer; many of the best colleges and universities, hospitals, beautiful art and culture institutions; hubs of innovation and great companies and organizations, the best sports fans and very special people. We’ve also come to learn that Philadelphia is the poorest of our nation’s 10 most largest cities with more than a quarter of Philadelphians experiencing hunger and food insecurity and health disparities; and that many youth are lacking the educational opportunities, digital competencies and basic problem-solving skills they need to ensure their future success,” stated Ms. Jenkins. She continued to say, “We started nearly 10 years ago with a goal to effectuate positive change in the lives of youth.  Within that mission we strive each day to go beyond, developing innovative programs that motivate and inspire. At TMJF, learning never stops and what’s beyond is the power of possibilities.”

The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation is a non-profit public charity with a mission to effectuate positive change in the lives of youth. And the mission of the foundation did not stop at the gala in October. In November, The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation Promise mural was dedicated at the 33rd Street and Wallace Street Playground. Though, the project was kicked off in July with campers that attended The TMJF Young Dragons Summer STEAM Camp. The STEAM program concentrates on science, technology, engineering, art, athletics, and math.

The TMJF Young Dragons Summer STEAM Camp is just one of the many programs the foundation created. The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation is committed to youth development initiatives and programs, which emphasizes education, character development, leadership, life skills, health and recreation. The foundation has a presence in Louisiana, Ohio, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Some other programs established by The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation include Next Level Youth & Football Camp, Project R.E.W.A.R.D.S, the On The Run College Tour, Get Ready Fest, and the upcoming Holiday Dinner Basket Surprise. This December The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation will share a nourishing meal with 420 families in Philadelphia, Camden and New Orleans through its 9th annual Holiday Basket Surprise and Toy Drive Initiative.
