Philadelphia – Philadelphia Powerhouse Jimmy DaSaint hosted a private screening for his latest movie The Karma Effect in Philadelphia, PA. Inspired by Tiona Brown’s book, Please Don’t Touch Me There, DaSaint’s The Karma Effect sheds light and brings awareness tothe issue of emotional, physical and sexual abuse of women and children and the perils that accompany.
It is always the time to raise awareness to issues like abuse and even pedophilia. However, currently we are living through an unprecedented period. While the entire world sits still due to a global pandemic, those deemed essential workers leave their homes daily. Unfortunately, in some cases our loved ones are entrusted to the care of predators. RAINN, the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network states, “Every 73 seconds an American is sexually assaulted. And every 9 minutes that victim is a child. Meanwhile only 5 out of every 1,000 perpetrators will end up in prison.”
Known for penning about real and raw issues, Jimmy DaSaint did not fall short with The Karma Effect. After serving 5 years in prison, Raymond ‘KARMA ‘Jackson has returned back home to a world of chaos and drama. When he finds out that his younger sister has been sexually molested then commits suicide, he sets out on a personal vendetta to find the man who is responsible for her death. The Karma Effect featured Bobby Rand, Edward Ferguson, Nacirema Ledom, and Tiona Brown. It also featured a dope original music soundtrack produced by Grammy Award Winning Songwriter and Producer Carvin Haggins. DaSaint even wrote four songs on the movie soundtrack.
When asked why he does what he does, DaSaint answered he draws from going to prison. He continued to say prison changed his mindset. When he shares his story, his drive and persistence is distinct. DaSaint released his first book Money, Desires and Regrets from prison.Even more, he was the first federal inmate to ink a three-book deal while incarcerated.
