Dionne Warwick Awarded 2017 Marian Anderson Award

The Marian Anderson Award honors critically acclaimed artists who have impacted society in a positive way either through their work or their support for an important cause. This year, the recipient of the 2017Marian Anderson Award is New Jersey’s own, singer Dionne Warwick. Ms. Warwick joins the list of past honorees including Sidney Poitier, Maya Angelou and Elizabeth Taylor. Mayor Kenney is quoted as saying that Dionne Warwick is a perfect example of an artist whose incredible talent and extensive accomplishments closely align with the achievements of Marian Anderson herself.
